CHARLOTTE COUNTY WOMAN CLAIMS $280,468 FANTASY 5® TOP PRIZE

TALLAHASSEE -- The Florida Lottery announced that Marie Ann Booher, 67, of Port Charlotte, claimed the April 10 FANTASY 5® top prize at Florida Lottery headquarters today.

Booher received a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $280,468.47. She purchased her winning FANTASY 5 Quick Pick ticket from Publix, located at 4265 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte.

Total ticket sales for this top prize generated approximately $361,000 for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $21 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.

The next FANTASY 5 drawing will be held tonight at 11:15 p.m. ET. Webcasts of Florida Lottery drawings are available on the Lottery's Web site at flalottery.com.
